Tonight I’m posting a quick review of a fan-favorite ink! The Sailor Manyo line is inspired by flowers in a collection of ancient Japanese poems called “Manyoshu”. Haha translates to “Glacier Blue” and is a light blue with lots of shading. I purchased the 50 mL bottle from Pen Chalet.
Swabs:
This ink had a quick dry time, high shading, and no sheen. This is a dreamy color that shades beautifully with green and purple undertones. The intense shading reminds me of a cooler, blue-toned Sailor 162.
Writing Sample:
This ink had a wet flow but dried quickly. The shading shone through with my Jowo <M> nib and made this very pleasant to write with.
Overall: Sailor Manyo Haha is a pale blue with high shading and a wet flow.
