Ink Review #224: Sailor Kiwaguro Pigmented Black

Today I wanted to review Sailor Kiwaguro Pigmented Black. One of my friends was curious about Platinum Carbon Black vs Kiwaguro Black, so I put these reviews back-to-back. Similar to PCB, Kiwaguro is a pigmented black.

Swabs:

This ink had no shading and low sheen. The color is less pigmented than PCB and is what I would consider a standard black ink. It has no undertones.

This ink had a long dry time at 50 seconds and high water resistance.

This ink had a regular flow similar to Sei-boku and Sou-boku. There was no feathering.

Overall: This is a classic waterproof black. I prefer Platinum Carbon Black as it is more pigmented. don’t think you could go wrong with either choice.
