Ink Review #360: Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Onyx

 

Today we will be reviewing Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Onyx. Onyx is derived from the Latin word onyx, which translates to “claw” or “fingernail”. Throughout the years, onyx has been used in carvings and jewelry such as amulets.

Swabs: 


This ink is a dark black with brown hues, no shading, and high green sheen.

Dry Time/Water Resistance: 

Limonaired Ink Test Card

This ink had a long dry time at 40 seconds and is waterproof.


Writing Sample: 

Tomoe River Paper 52 gsm

This ink had a wet flow.

Overall: Kala Onyx is a dark black with high green sheen.
