Pen Review: Bonecrusher Studios

Hello everyone! Today I will be talking about my first custom-made pen (from blank to the final product!). The turquoise/teal color of the pen caught my eye on Instagram and I impulsively bought the pen from James (@Bonecrusher7studios). Little did I know that this would become one of my favorite purchases!

Design (4/5): The pen is quite large, around the diameter of a Montblanc 149. I liked the cylindrical design and that the cap seamlessly merged with the rest of the pen. This provided an illusion of the pen being one seamless, integrated piece. Additionally, the section is smooth and easy to grip.

Color (5+/5): This resin sparkles in real life. To be frank, I expected an average pen and was pleasantly surprised when I unpackaged the box! The color , as I mentioned previously, is a shimmering blend of turquoise, yellow-green, and pearl white. The pearlescent glimmer provides gorgeous depth and shine.

Nib (5/5): This pen fits Jowo #6 nibs; I opted for a medium. I’ve written about my thoughts on Jowo nibs before (spoiler: I love them). A bit of a fun note - this purchase marked my first foray into Jowo nibs.

Ink Capacity (3/5): The pen fits a standard converter (Schmidt). This was a neutral category for me.

Overall (5/5): This gorgeous pen serves as an amazing representation of James’ excellent work. The lightweight design and vibrant color ensures that each writing experience is wonderful! I highly recommend browsing his Instagram if you are looking for a pen to add to your collection.
