Ink Review #75: Sailor Studio 123

Today I will be reviewing my first Sailor Studio ink! I had initially planned to review all 100 colors sequentially, but 123 and 162 are slightly out of order (thanks to Troublemaker inks, which are about to be reviewed!).

Sailor Studio inks were chosen from custom requests for ink blends at Japanese ink festivals (here). Sailor Studio 123 has been popular as people have talked extensively about its unique color gradation.

This ink had a moderate dry time, high shading, and low sheen. The shading goes from a lovely purple-grey to a lavender purple. The color also has subtle green and pink undertones.

This ink performed well across all nib sizes. The flow was consistent and well behaved.

Overall: This is a popular Sailor Studio color with unique shading.
