Ink Review #22: Robert Oster Thunderstorm

Today I will be reviewing another Robert Oster ink. I won't lie, this might become one of my favorite manufacturers! This is a dark black which is meant to parallel the color of the sky during thunderstorms.

Swabs:

True to its namesake, this is a dark black. I found this ink to have no shading or sheen. It has a subtle grey tone which reminds of black jeans which have been washed too many times. It is important to note that I used a fine nib, which may have altered the ink properties.

Col-O-Ring swatch. This suggests that Thunderstorm is not a deep black, but a "lightened" dark black/grey.

This ink dried quickly and behaved well in my Lamy 2000. I did like that this color wasn't a true black, as it provided some variation to standard black inks.

Overall: This is a well-behaved black ink that is suitable for the office or writing notes.
