Ink Review #149: Sailor Studio 940 — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Today marks our last ink for this blue batch! Sailor 940 is a dark navy.

Swabs:

This ink had a quick dry time, low shading, and medium sheen. Interestingly, the color is a denim blue that dries to a dark navy. The color is similar to Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai.

Writing Sample:

I found that this ink had a consistent flow without any hard starts. The fast dry time allowed me to scribble notes. I’m usually impartial to navy but found that I liked the color and sheen.

Overall: This is a classic navy that can be used at the office.
