Ink Review #197: Birmingham Pennsylvania Railroad Boiler Steam

What a title! Today we’ll be reviewing Birmingham Boiler Steam, a weathered blue-black.

This ink had high shading, and no sheen. This is a lighter blue-black than the ones I’ve reviewed. It won’t be mistaken for a standard black ink. The color is rather faded with grey undertones.

This ink had a long dry time around 40 seconds and surprisingly high water resistance.

I found that this ink behaved quite well with a smooth, slightly wet flow. I even used it at work for a week as I liked the shading and muted tones. It is easy to read in long writing samples.

Overall: This is a lovely grey-blue ink .
