Ink Review #222: Troublemaker x Shigure Inks Blueberry

Today I will be reviewing a limited edition ink from Troublemaker x Shigure Inks. I was fortunate to receive an ink sample from one of my friends. Shigure Inks is a company based in the United States. They have quite an ink selection and carry Tono & Lims as well as Troublemaker inks. Blueberry is described as a dark blue with purple sheen.

This is a rich medium blue with low shading and high red sheen.

This ink had a surprisingly quick dry time at 20 seconds and no water resistance.

This was a wet, smooth ink. The color is close to real blueberries. I was slightly apprehensive about trying another intensely pigmented Troublemaker ink after my converter was stained from Doña Victorina. I’m happy to report that this ink does not stain—and it has an impressive dry time considering that the sheen literally gleams off of the page! I also did not experience smearing which was a plus

Overall: This is my first “intense sheener” ink and I’m looking forward to comparing it with other brands (such as Organic Studio Nitrogen). Overall, I really liked this ink and sheen.
