Ink Review #301: Vinta Inks Collection Blood Dugong Bugshaw Blue 1951

What a title! Today we will be reviewing Blood Dugong Bugshaw Blue, a deep blue with red sheen.

This ink had no shading and high sheen. The color is similar to Organics Studio Nitrogen.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had an average dry time of 30 seconds and no water resistance.

This ink had very high sheen. However I didn’t like the consistency—it is noticeably thick and reminds me of mud or syrup. I also noticed several hard starts in my Lamy. The final nail in the coffin for me is the smear—this ink continued to smudge even after I had left it to dry for a day.

Note: The ink somehow seeped into my Lamy. I’ve spent most of a day and a half cleaning the lid, etc—-this is an ink that I don’t want to be around anymore!

Overall: Unfortunately I will have to pass on this ink. I’m not a fan of the smearing or the consistency.
