Ink Review #343: Kala Nostalgia Abstraction Ocean Breeze

Today continues our march into Kala Abstraction Inks. I think I’ve solved the series! There are 12 inks total with 6 low saturation/6 high saturation inks. I’ve started pairing them up with each other. Ocean Breeze is the more saturated counterpart to Blue Lagoon Vapor.

Swabs:

This ink had no shading or sheen. The color is a saturated brownish green. It reminds me of the ocean on gloomy days.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had quite a long dry time compared to Kala Winter Dawn and Kala Blue Lagoon Vapor at 45 seconds. Like the rest of the inks in this series, it is waterproof.

I found this sample to have a wet but controllable flow. The ink goes on quite dark, almost black; and lightens as it dries.

Overall:

Overall, I am impartial about this ink. It’s waterproof, but the color doesn’t pop out.
