Ink Review #360: Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Onyx

Today we will be reviewing Kala Onyx. Onyx is derived from the Latin word onyx, which translates to “claw” or “fingernail”. Throughout the years, onyx has been used in carvings and jewelry such as amulets.

This ink had no shading and high green sheen. The color is a dark brown-black.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had a long dry time at 40 seconds and is waterproof.

I found this ink to have a wet, generous flow. It would be best in a fine nib or dry pen.

Overall: I was impartial to this ink. It’s a nice sheening brown but is very wet.
