Ink Review #409: Taccia Ukiyo-E Hokusai-Benitsuchi

Today we will be taking a look at Taccia Ukiyo-E Hokusai Benitsuchi, which translates to “Red Soil”.

This ink had medium shading and no sheen. It is a saturated reddish brown with orange undertones.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had a long dry time at 40 seconds and low water resistance.

I found that this ink had a wet, smooth flow. I liked the color—it’s a well-saturated, bright rusty orange that pops. It would be a great fall ink (and is another one to put on my purchase list).

Overall: Hokusai-Benitsuchi is an unobtrusive fall-toned red. I liked the shading and flow.
