Ink Review #422: Sheaffer Skrip Blue Black

Today I will be reviewing Sheaffer Blue Black. Sheaffer is a well-known brand which sells rollerballs, ballpoints, fountain pens, and inks. The company was founded in Iowa in 1913. Their inks are well behaved and safe for vintage as well as modern fountain pens.

Swabs:

This ink had medium shading and no sheen. The color has low saturation and looks slightly faded.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had an average dry time of 30 seconds and low water resistance.

I found this ink to have an average flow. I rather liked the low saturation as it gives the blue-black ink a vintage feel. The ink flowed smoothly and I did not have hard starts or skips.

Overall: Believe it or not, I enjoyed the average-ness of this ink! It’s well behaved, with a smooth flow, and is safe in fountain pens. I’ve added this to my future purchases..
