Ink Review #651: Vinta Inks Blue Floss Perya 1820

Today we will be taking a look at Vinta Inks Blue Floss 1820. I believe this ink was inspired by the blue cotton candy that children eat as they walk through Luneta Park.

Swabs:

Blue Floss Perya had low shading and no sheen. The color is a very watered-down pale blue. In large swatches, it has faint greenish hues.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

Blue Floss had a quick dry time of 15 seconds and no water resistance.

Writing Sample:

This ink had low saturation and a dry flow. I find that pale inks are notoriously difficult to photograph, and included some doodles in order to give an appreciation of the ink color. The color itself is too light for writing, but I think it would be ideal for art.

Overall: I would say that this ink is not suited for writing unless used in very broad/flex nibs. However, it’s a very lovely shade of blue, and would work very well in art or paint swatches.
