Ink Review #478: PenBBS #389 — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Today we will be taking a look at PenBBS #389, or “Cherry”. This is a dark, rusty red.

Swabs:

This ink had high shading and no sheen. This is a dark red with brown undertones. The color is a close match to Sailor Studio 437 and Sailor Jentle Grenade.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had a long dry time at 45-50 seconds and medium water resistance.

Writing Sample:

This ink had an average flow. The shading adds depth to the color; which reminds me of Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream.

Overall: This is a dark red that would be great for the fall.
