Ink Review #641: Diamine Blue Edition Gold Star

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first post of the new year! I hope the holidays went well. Today we will be reviewing Diamine Blue Edition Gold Star (an apt color to kick-start 2022!)

Swabs:

Gold Star had medium shading, no sheen, and gold glitter. The color is a golden yellow similar to Troublemaker Yellow Tarantilla and PenBBS #501.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

Tsubame Note Ink Collection Card

This ink had an average dry time of 25 seconds and medium water resistance.

Gold Star had an average flow and saturation. I did not have any hard starts or skips (yay!) which I am always concerned about when reviewing sheening and glittery inks. Yellow/lighter inks can be difficult to read, but I felt that this ink performed well.

Overall: I think this is one of my more favorite yellows. It’s a sunflower-like yellow and work well as a summer/holiday ink.
