Ink Review #648: Graf von Faber-Castell Garnet Red

Today I will be reviewing my first ink from Faber-Castell. I used to purchase notepads and color pencils, etc back in the day—so imagine my surprise when I found out that they carried fountain pen inks! Garnet Red comes in a 75 mL bottle for around $32 on Goldspot Pens.

Swabs:

Garnet Red had low shading and no sheen. This is a muted burgundy-red that reminds me of red wine.

This ink had an average dry time of 20 seconds and medium water resistance.

Garnet Red had an average saturation and dry flow.

Overall: Garnet Red did not disappoint! It’s an austere dusty red with lovely hues . I liked the color, and will definitely review more Fabel Castell inks in the future.
