Ink Review #806: Birmingham Pen Company Pennsylvania Slate

This week, we will be reviewing Pennsylvania Slate from the Birmingham Pen Company. Nick was kind enough to send over an entire bottle (!!).

Pennsylvania Slate arrived packaged in a shapely glass bottle. I am not particular about ink packaging but found it pleasing to the eye.

I had a fantastic time writing with Pennsylvania Slate. The ink had a smooth flow that was just ‘perfect’ - not too dry, and not too wet. I loved the pop of color too!

Overall: I confess that I chose Pennsylvania Slate thinking it would be a nice blue-black ink. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the color! This is a lovely teal ink with great shading and flow. I can’t wait to review more Birmingham inks in the future.
