Ink Review #244: Noodler's X-Feather

Today I’ll be reviewing Noodler’s X-Feather. This is a black ink formulated to prevent feathering on cheap/low quality paper.

Swabs:

This ink had no shading or sheen. This is a standard, deep black.

This ink had a long dry time at over 60 seconds and high water resistance.

I have to confess that I wasn’t a fan of this ink. The ink “pools” on top of the page and takes a long time to dry. I also experienced several hard starts/skips while using this sample. However, it does seem to have anti-feathering properties as seen below.

Overall: I can’t say that I’m overly impressed with this ink, namely because of the flow and dry time. However it would be great for use if you use thin paper on a regular basis or are looking for a water resistant black ink.
