Ink Review #255: De Atramentis Pearlescent Velvet Black Copper

Today I’ll be reviewing a shimmer ink from de Atramentis. I had no idea this brand had glitter inks! Velvet Black Copper is a smooth grey-black ink with pearlescent shimmer.

This ink had no shading or sheen but high glitter. The color is a smoky black and gleams with copper/rose-gold glitter. This is the first shimmer ink that I’ve reviewed without gold or silver glitter and I had to emphasize it here. I really liked the pink glitter and felt that it the black a copper-like glow.

This ink had a long dry time at 40 seconds and surprisingly high water resistance.

I did not experience any hard starts or skips while using this ink. Additionally the glitter is quite steadfast and does not smear off. I found that this ink had a wet and consistent flow.

Overall: I’m not often impressed with glitter inks but made an exception for this one. It is quite water resistant (my favorite quality), wet, and with lots of rose-gold/copper glitter. I definitely recommend trying a sample and will purchase a full bottle in the future!
