Ink Review #254: Monteverde ITF Mercury Noir

Today we’ll be reviewing Monteverde Mercury Noir. This is a rusty red that, along with the rest of the Monteverde inks, is lubricated to help prevent the ink from drying out in your pen.

Swabs:

This ink had little shading and no sheen. My swab leaned purple-red but is a light brick red in my writing sample. The color is a shade lighter than Sailor 930.

This ink had a quick dry time of 15 seconds and no water resistance.

I found that this ink had a slightly dry flow. True to its word, I did not experience any hard skips or starts. However I felt that the dry flow deterred me from liking this sample as much as I would have.

Overall: Overall this was an average ink. I don’t think I will be purchasing a full bottle since the sample was too dry for me.
