Ink Review #318: Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo

Today I’ll be reviewing a popular color from Pilot Iroshizuku. Yama-Budo comes as part of their standard lineup and is a rich magenta.

Swabs:

This color had no shading and high gold sheen. The purple has reddish undertones and reminds me of beets. The sheen complements the purple nicely. It is slightly redder than Taccia Ebi Purple.

This ink was very wet with a consistent flow. It would be best used in dry writers. I liked the color and think it would be a great transition-ink from summer to fall, or fall to winter.

Overall: Yama-Budo surprised me a lot! I ended up liking the magenta and sheen combination. It’s well-behaved like other Pilot Iroshizuku inks.
