Ink Review #355: Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Moonstone

Today I’ll be reviewing Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Moonstone. This is similar to Grey Agate and a shade darker than Opal.

Swabs:

This ink had medium shading and no sheen. The color is a hair lighter than Grey Agate, but only when compared side to side; otherwise, these inks look very similar. It is a true grey without any noticeable undertones.

This ink had quite a long dry time—over 60 seconds—and is waterproof.

Writing Sample:

I found this ink to have a moderately wet flow. It was not a gushing ink which I like. The flow was manageable in my Lamy. The color is similar to pencil graphite.

Overall: I like this ink quite a lot. It resembles pencil lead and has an adequate flow. However I am a bit offput by the extremely long dry time—this would not be the best choice to use for note-taking.
