Ink Review #417: Robert Oster Blue Black

Today we are continuing the quest to find the perfect blue-black ink. Robert Oster Blue Black is on the darker end of the spectrum with a tinge of blue.

This ink had little to no shading or sheen. The color is quite dark, and shows purple undertones with large swatches. With writing, it resembles a faded black with a very faint smidge of blue. At certain angles, this color looks like a very dark navy.

I found this ink to have an average, smooth flow. The blue is faint; this ink can be mistaken for a black ink.

Overall: I have to say that I wasn’t impressed with this ink —the color is too dark for my taste. I prefer blue blacks where the blue is more apparent. However, this is a pleasant ink with a nice flow.
