Ink Review #558: PenBBS #224 Tolstoy — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Today I will be reviewing PenBBS #224. This is a medium yellow-green.

Swabs:

This ink had high shading and no sheen. It is well-saturated and I would classify this as a yellow-leaning green. It reminds me of Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgrun.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had a longer dry time at 40 seconds and medium/high water resistance.

Writing Sample:

This ink had a generous and smooth flow.

Overall: Do I recommend purchasing a sample? Heck yes! This ink shades wonderfully and would work across all nib sizes. In addition, I love the yellow tones—this makes it feel like an autumn/fall ink!
