Ink Review #475: PenBBS #504 — Fountain Pen Pharmacist

Today we are focusing on another PenBBS ink. 504 is a yellow-brown.

Swabs:

This ink had high shading and no sheen. The color is a slightly unsaturated light brown with yellow undertones. I would describe this as an amber color instead of a true brown.

Dry Time/Water Resistance:

This ink had a surprisingly long dry time of 40 seconds and little to no water resistance.

Writing Sample:

This ink had an average flow. I prefer warmer browns that have orange undertones (such as Diamine Autumn Oak). Overall I liked the shading but would have liked a wetter flow.

Overall: This is a warm orange-brown with high shading.
