Ink Review #771: IWI Color of Nature Grain Rain

Today we will be taking a look at IWI Color of Nature: Grain Rain.

Swabs:

Grain Rain is a pale coral pink with low shading or sheen. It has yellow hues that are most apparent in large swatches. I find that coral/orange-pink inks are difficult to color-match, so I’ve compared it to other colors below.

  • Sailor Studio 173 is slightly more orange.

  • Pen Saijiki Syurei is more saturated and orange-leaning.

  • PenBBS #158: Cherry Blossoms is distinctively more pink.

Grain Rain had a dry flow with low saturation. I did not have any hard starts or skips during my writing sample.

Overall: Overall, I liked this color a lot but would have preferred more saturation. I think this color would work best if used in artwork.
