Ink Review #364: Kala Nostalgia Gemstone Star Garnet

Hello everyone! This post marks the last, but not least, of the Kala Nostalgia Gemstone collection. I have to say that I preferred the light gray inks, and have kept the Moonstone, Grey Agate, and Opal samples. I love that these inks are waterproof!

On to Star Garnet- this is a rich purple ink. It hearkens to its namesake; these gemstones are often a deep, purple or reddish black.

This ink had low shading and no sheen. The color similar to, but a few shades lighter than, Robert Oster Deep Purple.

This ink had a fast dry time but was surprisingly not waterproof. Instead it had high water resistance.

This ink had an average flow. The purple is dark enough to be legible.

Overall: I’m not impressed by this ink; it is an average purple without noticeable sheen or shading. Additionally it is not waterproof as I thought. I don’t see myself purchasing a full bottle in the feature.
